Integral Quench Furnaces
The Williams Batch Integral Quench Furnace “BIQ” is the most versatile piece of equipment in the industry. Williams provides a variety of different sizes and features that make this furnace extremely flexible for the industry.
The highly efficient gas fired furnaces are equipped with vertical singled ended tubes or horizontally rear mounted. All gas fired units come with recuperation as a standard.
Our Air-Cooled fans provide excellent mixing of the atmosphere and heat for uniform temperature and carbon control. The only water required on our Batch Integral Quench Furnace Lines is make up water for the washer.
Our Quench Tank is designed for uniform quenching of the load. The agitators are equipped with VFD’s and can reverse. In addition, the oil quench baffles and shrouds are designed to force all the fluid through the load without short circuiting. Lastly, the double deck elevator allows a load to be quenching while a new load is transferred into the furnace chamber.
Endothermic Gas is typically the main carrier gas for our BIQ’s furnaces, but we do offer Nitrogen/Methanol systems as well. All furnaces are equipped with manual or electronic flowmeters.
The furnace can be loaded/unloaded with a standard charge car or load table. The alloy hearth in our units are equipped with heavy duty alloy roller rails and rollers.
Most of our BIQ furnaces are equipped with a rear handler so the operator only has to load and unload the vestibule from the charge car. The furnace controls and automated handler system will take care of the rest. We do offer a fast quench system for thin parts that are susceptible to losing heat during transfer to the quench.
We realize that every customer has their own favorite choice in Control Systems and manufacturers. Using that knowledge, we have become experienced and proficient in all types of heat and carbon control and their different manufacturers.
We can design and manufacture systems from a simple L.E.D. controller and high limit to a complete PLC system with custom SCADA program archiving all your capabilities and allowing for information will be transfer to your plant computer system.
We pride ourselves in our ability to work with the customer in designing and manufacturing a system that not only fits an application but also fits the customer’s spare parts and maintenance theories saving problem downtime and excessive spare parts build up.
Williams offers a variety of different controls to meet the customers needs.
