Pit Furnaces

Pit Furnaces are designed for light and heavy loading and can be used for a variety of applications such as Carburizing, Hardening, Annealing, Nitriding, Ferritic Nitrocarburizing “FNC”, and Tempering/Stress Relieving.

Our Pit Furnace lines comes with options for companion equipment such as Oil Quench Tanks, Wash Tanks, and Tempering Furnaces.

Direct Fired or Indirect Heating systems are available.  For Indirect Heating, we offer both gas-fired radiant tube systems as well as electrically heated systems.  The Indirect Heating allows for atmosphere usage such as Endothermic, Nitrogen,  Argon, and Ammonia.

The atmosphere tight furnace lid can be equipped with hydraulic cylinders to automatically pivot the lid 120 degrees open.  Also, Williams offers a hydraulic lift and rotation of the lid.  Both designs allow for top loading.

Effective working dimensions are available up to 10’ in diameter and 12’ deep.  Gross loading weight up to 25,000 lbs.
