Roller Hearth Furnaces
Over the past 50 years, Williams Industrial Service, Inc. has been designing and building high-performance industrial furnaces for the heat treating market. Some of our Continuous products consist of Large and Small Capacity Roller Hearth Furnaces.
Roller Hearth Furnaces are self-emptying. Products or trays enter one side of the furnace and exit on the opposite side. Also, Roller Hearth Furnaces are used for a variety of different processes such as Normalizing, Annealing, Isothermal Annealing, Carburizing, and Hardening. Common products such as bar, pipe, tubes, and trays with baskets are processed in roller hearth furnaces.
For hardening processes, the Roller Hearth Furnace will be supplied with either an oil, water or polymer quench tank followed by a post washer and tempering furnace. For annealing and normalizing processes, the line would include slow cooling sections for the desired metallurgical properties. Williams offers a wide variety of material handling equipment as well for the system.
Heating systems can be Gas Fired Radiant Tube, Direct Gas Fired or Electrically Heated. For gas-fired radiant tube systems or electrically heated, the furnace will be designed for atmospheres such as Endothermic Gas, Nitrogen, and Exothermic Gas.
The insulation consists of a bricked floor and side walls with a ceramic fiber roof. The drive system utilizes synchronized drive motors and overrunning clutches to separate the work and create gaps as required.
Effective working dimensions are typically 36” to 72” wide and the length is determined based on production requirements.
Williams offers fully automated, state-of-the-art control systems. This provides our customers with complete traceability of the parts including data collection and reporting capabilities.
